From the North (I-95 South)
After passing through the Fort McHenry Tunnel (Baltimore), take
exit 52--Route 295 South, Baltimore-Washington Parkway. As you approach
Washington, take the Washington-New York Ave. exit. From New York Ave.,
exit on South Dakota Ave. and drive to the 6th light (approx 1.3 miles).
Turn left onto Monroe St. and drive to the 9th light (approx 1.2 miles).
Turn right on 7th St., cross Michigan Ave. at the next light and enter
campus through the brown traffic gates.
To
reach Physics Department: Continue straight through the
intersection and up the hill. Once past the gray building on your right
(McMahon Hall), turn right into the parking lot. Hannan Hall is the
modern building shown in the photo at right. The elevator and stairs are
located to the left of the lobby.
From the South (I-95 North)
When I-95 intersects the Capital Beltway (Routes 395, 495 and 95),
get on Route 395. Follow Route 395 until is ends at New York Ave., where
you must turn right. After the second light, bear right onto M Street.
Then turn left onto North Capitol Street. Drive for approximately 1.4
miles and turn right onto Michigan Ave. At the 5th light turn left into
campus through the brown traffic gates.
To reach Physics Department: Continue straight
through the intersection and up the hill. Once past the gray
building on your right (McMahon Hall), turn right into the parking lot.

From the East (Route 50--John Hanson Highway)
As you approach Washington, Route 50 becomes New York Ave. On New
York Ave., exit on South Dakota Ave. and drive to the 6th light (approx.
1.3 miles). Turn left onto Monroe Street and drive to the 9th light
(approx 1.2 miles). Turn right on 7th St., cross Michigan Ave. at the
light and turn diagonally left into campus through the brown traffic
gates.

From the West (Route 66)
Route 66 empties onto Constitution Ave. Drive on Constitution Ave.
until you pass 2nd St., N.E.; then immediately turn diagonally left onto
Louisiana Ave. At the 5th light turn left onto North Capitol St. Drive for
approx 2.1 miles and turn right onto Michigan Ave. At the 5th light turn
left into campus through the brown traffic gates.
To reach Physics Department: Continue straight
through the intersection and up the hill. Once past the gray

From the Northwest (I-70 East)
In Frederick, MD take exit 53--Route 270 South to Washington. Exit
onto Route 495 East (left exit): the Capital Beltway. Take exit 28--New
Hampshire Ave., Route 650 South (Takoma Park). Drive 4.5 miles and turn
left onto Michigan Ave. At the 5th light turn left into campus through
the brown traffic gates.
To reach Physics Department: Continue straight
through the intersection and up the hill. Once past the gray
building on your right (McMahon Hall), turn right into the parking lot.

From National Airport
Taxis are available at the airport; the fare is approximately $20.
CUA's address is 620 Michigan Ave. N.E. The subway (Metro) is also
available; the fare is approximately $2.00. Yellow or Blue lines:
transfer to the Red line either at Gallery Place (Yellow) or Metro
Center (Blue) and take the Silver Spring/Glenmont train to the
Brookland/CUA stop. Exit the station at the left.

Pangborn Hall and the Crough Center for Architectural
Studies on the right. Follow the sidewalk as it bears to the right

From BWI (Baltimore-Washington International) or
Dulles
Bus limousines depart from both airports for downtown Washington
(approx. $19). From there, taxi or Metro service is available to CUA,
at 620 Michigan Ave. N.E.; on the Red line toward Silver
Spring/Glenmont to the Brookland/CUA stop on the Metro; exit the
station to the left.
To reach Physics Department: Cross the street to enter
campus. Head up the hill past Gowan Hall on your left, then past
