GEOTAIL Key Parameter Survey Plots

NOTE that the ISTP Key Parameter data is provided as a BROWSE product, intended to aid in the selection of intervals for futher study. As such, Key Parameter data should not be used for publiction without prior consent from the appropriate Principal Investigator(s).

Plot Format

The GEOTAIL survey plots show, from top to bottom :

• Magnetic field magnitude |B| and Bz component (GSE), in nT
• Magnetic field polar angle theta in degrees
• Magnetic field polar angle phi in degrees
• Proton number densities from the CPI/Solar Wind Analyzer (blue) and the CPI/Hot Plasma Analyzer (red) in part/cc
• Average proton energy from CPI in eV
• Average electron energy from CPI in eV
• Plasma velocity, Vx component from CPI in km/s
• Plasma velocity, Vy component from CPI in km/s
• Ion differential intensity spectrogram from EPIC in keV

For reference, the generation date for the plot, strings identifying the CDF files used to generate the plot are included under the time and position labels.
