CLUSTER-2 Orbit Plots

The CLUSTER-2 orbit plots consist of three panels:

The three panels located in the upper left, upper right, and lower left show X-Z, Y-Z, and X-Y projections of the CLUSTER-2 orbit respectively, in GSE coordinates. The orbit traces are color coded according to the region of geospace transversed by the spacecraft.

• RED :if in the solar wind
• RED :if inside magnetosphere and within 3 RE of model neutral sheet
• BLUE:if in model magnetosheath ,magnetopause boundary is the Roeloff-Sibeck model [JGR, 1993] using nominal conditions.
• YELLOW: Magnetosphere, other than above

Note: all of these parameters are model based and therefore are for predictive purposes.
