POLAR POINTING PLANS

The purpose of this web page is to aid in plan coordination and to help the polar project scientists and the FOT in understanding the polar pointing plans developed by the SPOF. The document PLATFORM CONSTRIANTS and DEFINITIONS contains information on the SPOF's understanding of the platform constraints and definitions. This information is used by the SPOF in the development of the pointing plan. If a project scientist or the FOT finds anything that is inconsistent with their understanding please contact the author of this document.

The following plot types and miscellanious items are available.

• POINTING PLANS: master list of slew maneuvers and RQL files.
• SCHEDULE of SCIENCE MODE SWITCHING TIMES.
• PLAN PLOT - shows the bore sight orientation as function of time with the sun, anti-sunward regions, modeled magnetic field directions, horizon and oval locations indicated. (click here for more detailed plot explanation)
  
• SIMULATED FOV of IMAGERS shows simulations of the field of view of VIS and UVI during horizon sensor acquistion intervals.
• SNAP SHOTS- shows the Earth view from polar with VIS and UVI field of views at slew maneuvers and halfway inbetween slew maneuvers. (click here for more detailed plot explanation)
